This property on Windermere Road in Stratham, was one of three purchased by a real estate developer earmarked to be put back in the market after renovation. Properties in the area benefit from rooms with generous proportions with the exception of their kitchens. Traditionally, they would comprise two reception rooms, a small galley kitchen on the ground floor and a family bathroom, a single room and two double rooms on the first floor.

In order to make this property more attractive for potential buyers – in tandem with our client’s architect and interior designer – we reconfigured the whole layout of the property to create a modern home with lots of space and all the mod-cons that today’s home buyers expect.

A generous rear extension was added creating an ample open plan space that incorporated living room, dining area and kitchen. A wooden deck was built in the back garden further extending potential entertainment space when the full-width bifold doors are open. The garden was redesigned and a cloakroom was created at the end of the entrance hall.

Upstairs, the family bathroom was modernised and the three bedrooms were reconfigured to create two larger double bedrooms and a home office. The new layout also provided space to create access for the new loft conversion.

The loft conversion now houses an ample ensuite master bedroom with copious storage space and plenty of light.

The project was finished on time and on budget allowing the property developer to place this home on the market according to his schedule achieving the ROI he had in mind.
